About this deal

DT-03T: Hassle-free, Great Performance! The stylish slimline form of this chassis stems from its lightweight yet durable monocoque frame, which features a longitudinally-positioned battery and the R/C equipment along the centerline for excellent balance. The combination of a long 287mm wheelbase and 4-wheel double wishbone suspension married to CVA oil dampers with long arms at a 25-degree attachment angle, allows the model to handle with stability on poor surfaces. The rear-positioned gearbox is sealed to protect from dust and dirt, with the built-in differential gear offering smooth cornering. The Tamiya R/C Aqroshot - DT-03T Model Kit from our great range of radio controlled buggies, is the first kit to be released with the new DT-03T chassis. I'm using a Futaba S3003 standard servo. It's a decent enough servo but it is decidedly a basic servo. A high torque - metal gear unit would be best. That would make for a great future hop-up for him. Thankfully I have a 13.5t sensored set up and a Metal Gear servo w Kimbrough saver spare , so they will make an instant difference.

That doesn't mean it won't still work. Wheel and tire choice for dt03 is something I've been googling around for a couple weeks in anticipation of my build. I'll definitely be trying wheels off my Lunchbox to see if they fit. The rear-positioned gearbox is sealed to protect from dust and dirt, with the built-in differential gear offering smooth cornering.

Still, I could still press on, I've put bearings in the gearbox (metal shielded) and rubber shielded on the outdrives which is my norm now;

The TTX300 system offers better than average adjustability and features steering and throttle trim with adjustable end points, steering rate adjustments, an internal antenna and a 70/30 throttle setting that is great for bashing ESC’s with reverse. The offset is essentially 0 as I recall and I should be able to switch the rear hex adapters for the Lunchbox rear adapters without modification. edit: oh, and Munchbox, your 'use a DT-03 suggestion' sounds very interesting. Do you know if anyone has ever tried it? I googled a bit but couldn't see anything.

Detailed tyre and rim database.

Of course one could ditch the Blitzer wheels and go for Street Rover ones instead, which might look rather good, or ditch the Street Rover tyres and go for Blitzer ones instead, which would also look rather good. However the larger Blitzer tyres might not suit the limited gearing options of the DT-02 gearbox. I love the look of the DT03 chassis...long and sleek bathtub configuration...it looks like some sort of sleek sci-fi spachship! The first 5 steps were mildly frustrating, I had all my usual tools prepared to start and in the first handful of steps I needed to go and get some scissors, flat head screwdriver and radio gear all of which are normally required much later into the build...pleasingly, the screw bags and steps are synchronised unlike the Grasshopper where the screw bag bears no relevance to the manual steps!
