Cuando terminé de leer toda esta historia de Juliette/Ella me di cuenta de lo extraña, pasiva y, muchas veces, irrelevante que fue. Creo que el 70% de todo lo que hay en esta segunda trilogía se siente como relleno y, por muy hermoso que sea el estilo de Tahereh Mafi, las palabras lindas no compensan la falta de una trama real y bien construida. The only thing I want in my life right now is MORE SHATTER ME BOOKS FROM AARON'S POV. I love reading his inner thoughts and they are always so much different from other characters in these series. Seeing him so vulnerable and his insecurities related to his relationship and other people made me connect even more with his character. It's always a pleasure to know more about him and I could read as many book if they all are written from his pov. How he loves Julliete and how he doesn't like surprises and how he loves the quiet but would do anything for Julliete even interacting with other people and how he secretly enjoys the company of Kenji but still wants to kill him. It was everything.

Adam is still irrelevant in this book so let's not even mention him. The other kids of the supreme leaders were helpful at some points, but mostly just sort of... there... I guess? The crew from Omega Point was actually relevant in this one. I guess Mafi remembered that they existed and gave them dialogue lines. I actually liked all their interactions with Kenji. You could actually see how close they were. And I'm definitely going to hate. By now you can probably figure out my feelings for the romance in this.

And just like the other books in this second trilogy, the characters were absolutely awful. Except Kenji. Kenji is the highlight of the second trilogy. And this post can just be my utter appreciation and admiration for Tahereh because I will always be a fan of hers. If you’re new to Tahereh Mafi’s writing, she has a contemporary book called A Very Large Expanse of Sea, which is very personal to her experience and other Muslims and what it’s like to live in a world post 9/11. And she has another contemporary coming out called An Emotion of Great Delight, which is a delight within itself. She has a true voice for all genres. But nothing learned within the novellas is crucial to the plot of the main series. They’ll only provide extra details that make the novels more impactful. I am even more confused by the ending. It didn't feel like an ending. Not only did it feel rushed and like we didn't actually solve all the problems, but I also have so many questions about it. There are so many loose threads and things that just sort of never get mentioned again. There is so much that was ignored about the ending in favor of a cute epilogue. And even the epilogue didn’t feel finished!!The book that all SHATTER ME fans have been waiting for is finally here. I loved the magical writing and the complexity of the characters. I would've never though that this day would come. The day where I had to say "I hate it." Look, I have suffered through this series for the sake of understanding the hype, and after that absolute disaster of an ending ( Imagine Me,) I REALLY hope this would be good. Since the news came out, all I wished for was something that can make me feel. I was excited to see Kenji (my beloved), Warner, and the Omega Point crew again. And all I got, is some cringey bullshit, make-out sessions in a cemetery (yes you read that right), and somehow Tahereh Mafi has convinced me to hate every single character I have rooted for.

my heart is so full because i was smiling ear to ear reading this. like some, i agree that “imagine me” didn’t give us much closer so when i heard a new book was coming out, i almost ripped off my shirt. I cling to him, squeezing my eyes shut as my head swims. These memories were a gift from my sister, Emmaline. The sister I only just discovered, only just recovered.
