Unfortunately this is a really bad device for mowing lawns, especially up to the recommended size of 740 square metres. The AdvancedRotak height adjustment has one simple button to choose one of seven cutting levels ranging from 25 mm to 80 mm, so the mowing can start right away. However, when you look at the excellent battery system that comes with this Bosch AdvancedRotak 36-750 mower, it isn’t difficult to appreciate how this could be a step up in the world of cordless garden equipment. It is fitted with a 36v 4.0Ah battery which is more than adept for the job, especially when you consider that this mower is designed for a garden measuring up to 750m².

Collecting your clippings has never been easier – the box is foldable to increase your storage options, making this a more accessible model for smaller storage spaces. If there is anything to get excited about with this mower, the grass collection box has to be it. Not only can it hold up to 50 litres of grass clippings, but it will also fold flat for much easier storage. In all the mowers I have tested I do prefer these hybrid grass collection boxes with the cloth sides (for better air circulation) and solid top and base (for enhanced durability). As mentioned above this allows the box the ability to fold flat. Another feature is the ErgoSlide System. This feature makes the lawn mower easier and more comfortable to move around. As I have mentioned, the power of this mower is pretty impressive for a battery-operated model so as you would expect, it gives a decent performance. This product carries a full 3 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables. In the unlikely event of a fault the item returned is subject to fair wear & tear and must not have been used beyond the scope of it's design. Please note that cordless products will normally have a shorter warranty of just 1 Year for the battery and or charger supplied. If you have left your lawn to grow for a while, don’t rush in and cut it on a very low setting. Rather start on a higher setting and progressively cut it lower. This will avoid leaving an untidy patchy appearance or even scalping parts of your lawn. The Advanced Rotak 750 is a 1700 W corded lawnmower that's new design allows for a high-quality finish. Is 7 separate cutting lengths better than the competition? Well yes. Some mowers at this price point only have 3 height adjustments, however, most will have 5 so it really does beat the competition hands down.

The collection box is very flimsy whereas the previous solid box was much better. And this collection box fits less well so within a couple of metres of mowing the entire top surface of the mower is covered with grass cuttings. Could have given one star for build quality but am optimistic that some of the other features will stand up to repeated use (so far have only done a single cut of the lawn). It is essential that your lawn mower is highly adjustable to accommodate different lawn types as well as to accommodate for the different seasons. The Bosch AdvancedRotak 750 gives you a choice of 7 settings ranging from 25mm to 80mm on the front and rear wheels. Wow! 7 height adjustments! This really is impressive as some mowers I have tested only have 3, so no matter what type of lawn you have or what your seasonal requirements are, this mower will be perfectly adjustable for your needs.

Faster and better results along edges

Often, you will find that a mower will have a collapsible handle but the grass box is not always a consideration where storage is concerned, yet it is one of the largest components. Yes, it’s not the cheapest mower, but you do get what you pay for. Remember you get the Ergonomic and ErgoSlide handles that really do help to make the whole mowing experience that much easier as you can adjust the mower to accommodate the most comfortable posture whilst mowing your lawn. There are four power buttons, two on the upper grips and two on the lower grips making it easy to turn corners single handed whilst keeping the power going. This mower is extremely quiet for a mower of this size and power as the ProSilence reduces sounds by up to 75% to a very reasonable 75 dB. The grass box on both the 750 and 650 have a solid top and bottom and a woven material side. This allows the grass collection box to be folded nicely flat to reduce storage space. I’m disappointed that this feature has been removed without a word of warning. When a product is ‘updated’ it is relevant to inform current owners about removed features as much as new ones. The other great feature of this mower is the ProSilence that reduces the noise level of this motor by up to 75%. I was sceptical at first but was pleasantly surprised at the low noise level of what is a very powerful motor. Have bought this machine to replace a Bosch 43 Ergoflex, which had a 43cm cutting width, and importantly a 15m cable. Going up to this machine, with a slightly wider 45cm cutting width doesn't help at all as it only comes with a 10m cable. So the Bosch 43 can cover a 750 square metre area without needing to move the cable (just - my previous mower was even better, there must be some sort of trend here), with the AdvancedRotak 750 you also need to buy an extension lead and stop several times to move it.
