NOW Yearbook ’82 comes as a 4CD deluxe hardcover book edition and a 3LP set pressed on yellow vinyl. saw a huge chart presence for dance music – from the hi-NRG of Boys Town Gang, to the electro-infused beats of Malcolm McLaren, and Rockers Revenge, the 1980’s disco of Shalamar, alongside soul classics from Marvin Gaye and Donna Summer… plus stellar ballads from Elton John, Lionel Richie, and Roxy Music. Classic Rock from Motörhead and Judas Priest, Soulful Disco from Diana Ross and Donna Summer, and a perennial Christmas favourite from Jona Lewie are all featured. An amazing year for pop is reflected here with a line-up that kicks off with Queen’s iconic ‘Radio Ga Ga’ and finishes with the biggest selling single of the decade, ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?

As usual, this is a 3CD set and unlike the ‘main’ Yearbooks there’s no vinyl and no deluxe hardcover option, just a six-panel gatefold card sleeve presentation. Available on 3LP Yellow vinyl, a Special Edition CD / 4CD Hard-back book’ packaging, including a booklet with a summary of the year, a track-by-track guide, a quiz, and original singles artwork and standard 4CD set. Duran Duran, Haircut 100, Soft Cell, Japan, ABC, The Clash, and The Jam represent some of the greatest artists of all-time, as well as the era – plus pure Pop heaven from Bucks Fizz, Tight Fit and Dollar. and Tears For Fears, as well as an incredible line-up from artists who had established their chart presence in the prior 18 months and would produce some of the greatest tracks of the decade; Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, ABC, Haircut 100, Soft Cell, The Human League, and a newly solo Adam Ant.

As a brief sidebar, I can tell you that the contest was held in Harrogate in the UK, in 1982, and 12-year-old me lived there and so I went down to the International Conference Centre and saw the acts arrive!
