About this deal

The best way to find out what is going on in Krakow during your stay is to check in with the Krakow Festival Bureau or grab a copy of the Karnet magazine. This french inspired restaurant is a favorite, even though I have only ever managed to get takeaway from there (as of this writing). Businesses and rent costs on Ulica Floriańska are said to be the second highest in Poland, next to Ulica Nowy Świat in Warsaw as number one. These worker canteens were here long before communism- but it was under the communist regime that they were subsidized and popularized.

This article is out of date, and some of the items are no longer available at the same locations- so please use this as inspiration for food to look for, but it can no longer provide a step by step tour with food through the Old Town. Our only issue, and it is not a complaint but a suggestion to enhance the guide, would be to name the specific stop on the tram line for each tram and destination. Relaxing Along the Planty We are so saddened to announce that the Bunkier Cafe is no longer with us. There is nothing out of the ordinary, but it is a nice atmosphere, low-key place, with only a few seats.I don't see where there is a Rick Steves Krakow guide book, so I bought a DK Eyewitness Travel book, which I don't find that interesting. One of the most compelling sights is Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory across the Vistula — instantly recognisable to anyone who has seen Schindler’s List. On a “luxury” budget of 625 PLN or more per day, you can stay in a hotel, eat out anywhere you want, drink more, take more taxis, and do whatever guided tours and activities you want. If you had walked down Karmelicka Street in Krakow just a couple of years ago, you would have noticed an ugly car park just past the intersection with Rajska Street. It is the first place I go after landing in Krakow, and a must-have if you are visiting for the first time.

Place in what used to be an old Jewish school (so I’ve been told) you can marvel at the metalwork the bar is decorated with, or you can get absolutely smashed in high-end cocktails. Every one of them I have read has been current, informative, and helpful for a tourist new to an area. There is no good explanation for why they are there, but a Reddit thread speculated that because the symbol of Warsaw is a mermaid, maybe it is an anti-warsaw sign, because it is an upside-down merman. Here you’ll find this toasted open baguette smothered in gooey cheese and sauces — a perfect snack after touring the many bars and brewpubs crammed into Kazimierz. Discover its Jewish heritage by visiting the museum within the striking Old Synagogue and swing by the Ethnographic Museum* in Kazimierz Town Hall. One of our favorite things to do in Krakow is walk along the Planty, sometimes we even run the entire 4k or bike it with friends.
