About this deal

The aim of the game in Glasgow is to gain as many victory points as possible by the end of the game. You can approach the game from several ways too - building factories early can get you some guaranteed income, but factories themselves are awful for points. However it is always the turn of the player furthest behind on the ring, so skipping a long way ahead often gives your opponent several goes in a row as they catch up to you.

Build a factory, and you'll receive more goods from it when other buildings are constructed in the right areas in relation to it; build a train station, and you may or may not score from it depending on what else you build; build a monument, and you'll merely collect a lot of points — and in the end, points are what matters. From the latest theatre events and live music performances to local activities and fantastic attractions, we keep you up to date daily! We run online FNMs for Magic the Gathering Players and host Role Play Games for our community members.

Merchants of the area took the lead in developing what became modern Glasgow, one of the first grid plan cities in Europe. This game, however, fills a nice quick 30 minute window with something still reminiscent of the heavier games that we love. Glasgow treasure hunt is a race option treasure hunt and is great for parties or team-building exercises. There is enough complexity that you won’t know who has won until you have totted things up at the end.

This ties in with the theme perfectly and the fact it can be stolen means you want to get it used asap. Unfortunately, this does lead to a little bit of a lack of tension, which is something I’ve always felt in bigger roundel-based games. The player takes the turn by moving their figure to a free action tile, using its action immediately. In no way does this mean that the game is unbalanced, it is perfectly possible to work around these buildings and thwart your opponent at every step of the way, which is absolutely one of the strong points of two player gaming. The architect and contract tiles are also made of thick cardboard and have a quality finish to them.Glasgow is a two-player specific game designed by Mandela Farnandez-Grandon and published by Lookout Games. It’s quick, although every turn feels full of tension as you’re trying to decide the best way to get what you need without giving away everything to your opponent. My wife, on the other hand, really liked that there were nice, easy choices that often felt meaningful and rewarding, but which rarely came with real peril.

If I make a bad choice, it sets us back a week or two, with her often refusing to play again based on her sour memory of the last experience. The contract tiles allow you to collect and trade resources as well as a few other actions like stealing the whisky barrel. But if I don’t build that tenement then perhaps they will, then they would get loads of points and trigger their factories themselves AND still be able to build that park. The components of the game are some wooden resource tokens, a resource board for each player, 4 architect tiles, 14 contract tiles and some building tiles. I could just set back with a good ol’ glass o’ scotch whiskey and dream of the life we coulda had together. Please note during August due to The Fringe Festival the discount at the treasure may not be available. Taxi drivers have an opinion on every subject, land on one of the ‘Sound-Off’ squares and it’s your turn to sound-off like a cabbie. This small and exclusively two player only game follows in the footsteps of Foothills (also from Lookout Games) in the sense that it aims to deliver a reasonably thoughtful, interesting experience whilst catering for exactly two players. The other reason is if a player sees a building that is worth a lot of points to them that they cannot risk their opponent getting.
