About this deal

Of course, both sub-books also have tons of new gear, but the Gears side is naturally going to get the lion’s share of that, and the variety is what stuck out to me. In terms of Golarion setting stuff, I would really want to get more info on Arcadia considering it gets a section of its own in Guns and Gears, indicating that it's clearly a hotbed for what the book discusses, as well as it is clearly coded as the "Americas" which is an interesting combination. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. But reading through Guns And Gears, I may be changing my tune, and not just because playing a leshy gunslinger whose nickname is “The Salad Shooter” would be Dad-Joke hilarious.

The pocket edition delivers the same content in a compact softcover format, ensuring affordability and easy portability. As for other equipment—beast guns are GROSS and BIOLOGICAL and WONDERFUL and please keep them away from me. Although the bodies of automatons are wonders in and of themselves, the true technological marvels they bear are the automaton cores that power these constructs. Really, what gets me excited in the Equipment section is when it cranks the scale up into the industrial: namely, vehicles and siege equipment. My longest 2e campaign was done using the green "Mighty Fortress" historical setting rules in a home brew world.Previous Paizo releases have followed the same basic layout of the Core Rulebook, keeping to the Ancestry-Background-Class flow. Another interesting one is the Firework Technician which is a Guns archetype that’s like a highly-specialized alchemist. These characters come with a delightful bit of planar and mechanical worldbuilding, and to my mind are ideal for every cheese monkey who’s ever grown irritated at the difference between their Big “Freaking” Cannon and their weak, spindly character. Now, if you’re just a group that plays published adventure paths, you may miss most of this or get a paragraph or two of it in handout form and move on.

But I don’t want to waste too much time on the cover when all the fun stuff is on the inside, so take this as a reason to consider the special edition, and let’s move on!I also was hoping for a tech book last June, and became increasingly certain we would see one as more Lost Omens stuff came out. Brent Holtsberry, Jason Keeley, Dustin Knight, Luis Loza, Ron Lundeen, Chris Mastey, Liane Merciel, Jacob W. It also, I have no doubt, will be the source of an incredible number of arguments about whether or not guns have a place in your game. This section, like the one in The Mwangi Expanse, uses real-world examples to support the decisions incorporating the book’s content into Golarion or settings like it—in this case, making note of the fact that black powder development on Golarion is slowed by the utility and ubiquity of magic, or the way real-world plate armor was capable of protecting users from period-appropriate firearms.
