About this deal

It makes you wonder what the movie version of Hannibal is about and what is going on with this character in the opera. I found the distance between the rings too great and it pulled the skirt back too much, so I reduced the width. Etsy’s 100% renewable electricity commitment includes the electricity used by the data centres that host Etsy. Interestingly, it is the most modest neckline I wear in the show (which I skillfully covered up in the first picture with my sheet music—oops! While I do find the movie's costumes to be lovely overall, many of them don't work within the context of the story.

And/or perhaps that is how I feel about playing Christine…my not-so-sassy/sensual faces in these pictures indicate that I wasn’t in character yet…). The stage version and the movie version have some costumes that are very similar to each other, while others are quite different. Around May we really decided we were going to do it, we were finally going to make our dream a reality by becoming The Phantom and Christine. She tries to tell Raoul about the Phantom and her growing fear, and he tries to comfort her with his love. In the movie, she doesn't finish changing, so she goes out in a corset with pink details, a pink skirt, and a red velvet cloak. It is fabricated in contrasting shades of blue cotton, with the body of the dress being light blue then trimmed in darker shades of blue. All that was left was the mask so after many youtube tutorials, we plastic wrapped my hair back and lubed up my face. Slaves could be the most beloved girlfriend, the family’s accountant, the head masters of schools, the best chef in town, the most sought after doctor, the superstar gladiator. I really love the skull that the Phantom has on his sword so we found a cheap little plastic skull which I then sawed in half and was able to get onto the sword and then remelt the edges so it didn't look too weird.

The Rooftop cape is beautiful and romantic (picture taken under stage as I’m about to run up the stairs—notice wonderful dresser Emily Fox behind me) and The Countess has pink hair (my only wig change in the show—Leonators will notice the arm of Christine-wig-man-extraordinaire Leone Gagliardi in this pic)! Both romantic and scary, The Phantom of the Opera is a thrilling night of theater with grand emotions. Through the years the gowns worn by Christine Daae have been subject to many interpretations, leaving you to let your imagination drift as you create your own version of Christine Daae. Christine Daae is a chorus/ballerina who becomes the object of an obsession by the mysterious Phantom of the Opera, who kidnaps and drags her to his lair. Immediately after Raoul leaves the room, the Phantom makes his presence known and lures Christine through the mirror.

With the exception of her “Masquerade” outfit (which I’d guess Raoul/The Managers purchased for her), this is the only time we see her in her own clothing. Turning off the personalised advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. I love these looks because they evoke comedic Mozart operas, which is actually how I got my start—I was contacted by a NY agent after my (small) role of Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro at Yale Opera my senior year of college. I have a soft spot for the stage version, but the movie costume grows on me more every time I see it.I could give you the short version - and my interpretation of them (which might not be identical to other interpretations of it). The ratings/reviews displayed here may not be representative of every listing on this page, or of every review for these listings.

Though, who knows—given all the flowers on her dress, maybe an hour before she left for the party, she just put on a ton of flowers and claimed she was a flower.

Christine wears a white blouse with a black bustle skirt for "Twisted Every Way," which is hard to get a decent picture of from the movie since it's barely visible. I also love it when my wonderful leading man, James Barbour, helps me out by carrying my train up the stairs to my dressing room after the show.
